Pillar of Strength

'I can't
I won't
They can't
They won't
Snatch me away
Pull me astray.
I tremble to see alfra red temperature checking device.
I stumble to view those PPE kit clad human forms.
My heart skips a beat or two to hear those deafening sirens of ambulances constantly wailing.
My whole strength is as if pumped out to behold police patrol cars now always roaming'.
My pretty daughter was in tears
She was unable to fight her fears.
'Mom,' she yelled ,' l can't live without papa and you'
'Mom,' she pleaded,' this home would be a living hell without papa and you'.
'Mom' , she whispered,'What if l would fall ill?
If l would have Covid -19?
If they drag me away ?
That hospital's four walls l assure would be no less than inferno.
That hospital's four walls would become my graveyard.
Your little bird would then never ever chirp or fly.'
'My darling daughter,' l assured ,' l will always be at your side.
In my arms for sure you will be able to hide.'
My little angel without doubting what l had said , with her teary face was soon engulfed by sweet sleep's blanketed embrace .
I am a mom, her pillar of strength.
But, who would dare and tell my angel,
That though l was portraying myself as brave and strong.
In reality all my claim to courage was nothing but a white lie.
My back is also breaking.
My spirits are also falling .
My heart is also sinking.
She has me but where is my mom?
Mom, now l know what price we have to pay to grow.
At age of forty two l only want you.
I want you to come and hide me, your daughter.
Take me back in your cradle.
Where Papa was our unshakeable fort.
Whose walls were strong enough to hold whatever was there to harm and scare the little inmates of your nest.
But, now in heaven he himself rests.
You are now old ,weak and infirm .
Still as cheerful as optimistic as when you were young.
Never letting us loose heart and towards pessimism swung.
Mom, what l had never ever said
Today let me confess.
You are our rainbow.
You are our crossbow.
You are our sunshine.
You are our cool shade
You are the  soothing breeze that we all breath .
You are our sap
And you are our soul..
In our old home l wish again to crawl.
New normal is the true abnormal.
New normal is the true abnormal.
I wish my tomb should have been your womb.
Again in your arms l want to rest.
As you are our only pillar of strength.
As you are our only pillar of strength.

  13. A true motherly tribute, un-trivial triumphant teary poetic verse, a treat to celebrate "maa" and her pious "mamta"...we all yearn to blanket till our last breath..
Superb depiction of remembrance, homage, indebted unconditional love She showers as divine bliss... we all miss....her healing kiss...as bro & sis...
Appreciate the choicest words the blogger has woven in the "Pillar of Strength " transforming "new normal" blogging rules to "mom-entous " levels(pun intended).. I am sure the Blogger is herself a Mother who had nurtured in her womb the legacy genome of "maa" ki "mamta"....forget the "tomb" mother blogger as together we celebrate life lallaby...
Keep feeding the blog child...with your poetic verses....
