Education in Lockdown

Trains' engines' booming whistling blow,
Aeroplanes deafening whopping flow
Or
Buses ,cars wheels of each and every vehicle were halted.

Ah! Who could have dreamt
Who could have foretold
That our lovely world is going to lose its glow.

Since Covid-19 is here to each and everyone scare
Shops were shut
Malls were closed
Almost in all sectors shutters of offices were pulled down for uncertainty.
Temples,Gurdwaras ,churches and mosques all were locked.

But one temple refused
But one temple denied to call it off.
And ventured to mould to keep its gates open and bold.
Believe me ,only it has power to transform pebbles into gold.

I hope you have guessed
Because since childhood we all have been told
That Temple of Education is the best.

Kudoos to warriors
Salute to warriors

Doctors, health workers, police force and sanitation team.
But,but wait aren't we forgetting
The creators, the builders, the moulders, the sculptors the true cheer leaders of these selfless warriors.

Work from home
Has for them two notions
Work at home
As well as
Work from home.

Always running a race to give their best.
Clearing with flying colours time's ruthless test.

But Alas! The unsung heroes had to bear daggers and banters of flickering tongues.

Only for children ,only for students
There was all hue and cry,
" Kids are loosing appetite.
Kids are becoming dull and morose
Kids have watery running eyes.
Why to pay fee?
When my kids are in room at our home."

It's time to introspect and as parents to ourselves check and correct.
For half an hour's class of your ward
A teacher spends hours.
Their backs break
Eyes strain
Have at times continuous headache.
But do they complain?
But do they stop?
Answers l believe all of us know.

Teachers still don't hesitate to dive deep into the world of creativity
To make every lecture colourful and interesting.

All pain is gone
All miseries vanish
When chatbox shows 'Thank you' from the students unknown.
Who meet and greet on a virtual platform.
Just for a 'Thank you ' teachers are ready round the clock.

Don't be so unwise
Don't close your eyes
Screen time of your children was already high.
What's app, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram
Pub G and countless other virtual games
Were chopping their brains
Like termite slowly consuming and devouring their senses.

Teachers acted as their fences ,as their shields to keep them sound and busy to push them to run horses of their mind.
For solving, tracing and finding answers of their text and to keep worthless apps at rest.

Don't you deem it right
That we all have to together fight.
Let's pray fire stays lighted in every hearth
And everyone has stuff  filled for three meals in their pots.

Let's be on time
It's not a question of punishment or fine.
Let's pay our bills,
Let's clear our dues.
Let's earn together,
Let's spend together.
I give you take,
You give l take.
This terrible time would also pass
Economy of our country will for sure bloom.
Till then let's be eachother's support and save humanity from loosing hope....

  11. Wow!! You have "unlocked" true potryal of teachers "lockdown"warrior avatar that never got it's due share....the infinite "positive" demonstrated by "gurus" never got appreciation and true to current trends even this "positive" was COVID +.
Thanks for un-"masking" the true efforts of teachers as you "sanitized" infected mindsets who were "safe-distancing" the relentless hard work each educator was putting day & night.
Salute the blogger teacher for another masterpiece which if not "tested" wouldn't have wandered "asymptomatic"....
"Gurur" hai mujhe har "Guru" pe..

Working Mom

The title of this write-up may make no sense and might seem whimsical to some. Yet, I couldn't think of any other, though I did try to run the horses of my mind for hours to replace it with a better one. Anyhow, its content, I hope, is worth reading. This may sound contrary to me,a language teacher who always guided  pupils to choose eye-catching and gripping titles for their work. Yesterday, a phone call from my twenty-one-year-old daughter led to a discussion  about the parents’ rights over children. I, being a mother, feel that a mother—being the carrier of her baby in the womb for nine long months and then bringing the baby into this world with unimaginable pain has rights to advocate. I told her about how difficult it is for a mother to stay away from her children, especially toddlers. I shared with her the hardest choice I had to make when she was just one and a half years old and my elder child was  three. It was one of the toughest years of my marriage....

When Skill Meets Determination:A Salon, A Story and a Salute

Since time immemorial, both men and women have wished, ventured, and craved to look good, better, and sometimes the best. In every nook and corner of the world, whether in a bustling city, a quiet suburb, or a small village, salons and beauty parlours stand as testimony to this universal desire. With each generation, the dependence on such services has grown, shortcuts have become acceptable, and professional grooming has turned into a necessity rather than a luxury. This observation isn’t a conclusion drawn from research; it is born from personal experience with my twenty-one-year-old daughter. Having recently begun to manage her life independently, she is particular about her appearance and outlook. For the past three years, she has been living abroad and returns home every December for a month. During this time, she sweetly wishes to be pampered in every possible way. One such indulgence is getting her hair washed and blow-dried at a salon so that her curtain bangs remai...

Tribute to Father

TRIBUTE TO FATHER IS AN EFFORT TO GIVE WORDS TO ONE OF MY COLLEAGUES IN DAV (ONCE MY HAPPY WORKPLACE), JASWINDER SIR'S FEELINGS WHO OF COURSE, ACKNOWLEDGES A MOTHER'S CONTRIBUTION BUT WISHED A FATHER MUST ALSO GET HIS DUE IN HIS CHILDREN'S UPBRINGING. I HOPE JUSTICE HAS BEEN DONE THROUGH  THIS SMALL EFFORT.  At times ,cold as ice yet comforting and balming, hard as coconut but sweetest at core that's a father's pretenceless heart, sturdy as a mountain an unshakeable support, rough and rugged as a road that for sure leads to  the beautiful resorts, Such is the beauty of a father's love. Love that makes no audible noise, That mostly abstains from public display of affection, But round the clock makes sure that the fire beneath the hearth of his home shouldn't ever extinguish, Works like  an ox, Doesn't mind what it takes blood, sweat or tears Every price for his little ones' smiles he is willing to pay.  Often misunderstood,  often underestimated,  oft...
