I in memory of my late father who left for the Heavenly Abode on February 1,2003
Only if we had known
That life is not always a sweet song,
And that there is an invisible hand
That continuously plays the death gong.
We would have tied your breaths with our own.
Only if we had known
That your love, care and concern which your children had taken for granted were not for eternity but were evanescent,
That all your hurry and worry,
The faint glitter in your eyes ,
To see all of us rise and touch the new realms had a reason.
That you by forsaking us planned a treason .
Only if we had known
That our strength would lead to your weakness,
That our youth would beget your seniality,
That our strong heartbeat would herald weakening of your limbs,
We would have refused to grow.
Only if we had known
That you who were shade and sunshine of our life would soon be gone,
Not for a single moment
Would we have allowed you to be alone.
Only if we had known
That it was your last call,
We would have kept you hooked to receiver,
And would have said whatever was left unsaid ,unheard by you.
As being immature we only gave voice to we,my,our desires, dreams, grudges and demands.
We would have expressed our gratitude,
To say you thanks from Almighty we would have begged and stolen a few golden moments.
Only if we had known
That soon you would only become a name,
And that life is a cruel game
And with your departure it would never be the same.
The two pieces of your heart who were far and apart
Would have flown to be by your side.
Only if we had known
The other two pieces of your heart
Who were witnessing your heart wrenching farewell,
That we would never get a chance again to see your human form
We would not have bothered to blink our eyes.
Only if we had known
That we had little or no time to pay your debt,
As you had decided to lay on your death bed.
We would have done what not
To make you smile for one more time,
May be for a fraction of a second.
If whatever we have heard
Is not a myth,
That in after life we get to meet our kin and kith.
Then we would again hold your hand
And our life would be grand.
Everything there would be a bliss
And no longer your warmth we would miss.......

ReplyDeleteThe pain of loved ones parting is of immense magnitude that a loving heart can't ever overcome. Souls move to more beautiful journey with Almighty and other beings left behind carry the burden of memories of the loved ones with teary eyes. Cycle of life continues and we revisit the goodness of these holy souls by remembering the cherished moments of togetherness. This humane bond is what makes immortality a boon and curse that we need to abide by . But we shall meet oneday with all those who we miss dearly in the abode of Almighty together again laughing and enjoying the care and love of the lost souls that had parted once .
